What training do you need to get started? Depending on the job you want, you need:
- high-school diploma OR
- college diploma or
- certificate in business administration or something similar, OR
- university degree in business administration or something similar
The financial services sector is knowledge-intensive, given roughly 70% of those employed have a post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma. The most common field of post-secondary study is business administration, either college or university level.
More than 15,500 Nova Scotians work in financial services, and they make good money. On average, financial service workers earn 6.3 per cent more per hour than other Nova Scotians.
